Preston Huggins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Preston Huggins of Jackson, were united in marriage June 3 in an afternoon ceremony at St. Peter's Cathedral. Father Patrick Farrell officiated.

Nuptial music was presented by Miss Sonja Jenkins of McComb, soloist, and Miss Frances Warden, organist. Readings were presented by Miss Wanda Ray and Miss Lynn Phillips, both of Jackson. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal gown of white Qiana fashioned with a fitted bodice of Venise lace with a scalloped portrait neckline and long fitted sleeves cuffed in lace. The controlled A-line skirt swept into a chapel train. Her veil of silk chiffon fell to a fingertip length from a profile headpiece of Venise lace matching that on her bridal gown.

She carried a bouquet of white silk flowers accented with blue and wore pearls given to her by the groom. Serving the bride as maid of honor was Miss Carolyn Ray of Jackson. Bridesmaids were Brigitte Baumann, cousin of the bride, Martha Stephens of New Albany, and Mrs. Lee Gray of Jackson. The bride's attendants wore formal gowns of floral voile in shades of blue, pink and lavender on a white background.

The peasant dresses featured a scoop neckline, elbow sleeves and tiered skirts which ended in a border print. Their bouquets consisted of loosely arranged silk flowers which matched the colors in their dresses. He received his Bachelor of Public Administration degree at the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

He presently is associated with Deposit Guaranty National Bank. Vows will be exchanged on Aug. 12 at 4 p.m. at St. Richard's Catholic Church in Jackson.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Capital City Petroleum Club.
