Phillips. Mrs. James Worley, second vice president, conducted the business session of the meeting. Miss Billie Ladner introduced a guest, Mrs. Pat Scott, and announced that Mrs.

Tommy Taylor will transfer into the Chapter. Mrs. Taylor and her family have moved to the Jackson area from Casper, Wyo. Mrs. Joe Parish reported a profit of $95.75 from the recent hake sale.

Miss Dot Busby presented a very interesting program on "Down Under." Mrs. Thomas A. Bown acted as a travel agent presenting a choice of tours of "The Far East," The next meeting will be in the home of Mrs. James Perkins and Mrs. J.

C. Furlow will be in charge of the program on "Russia." Members present were Mrs. Maurice Baldwin, Mrs, Thomas A. Bown, Miss Dot Busby, Miss Helen Holden, Mrs. John Kimbrell, Miss Billie Ladner, Mrs.

Charles A. Manning Mrs. Joe Parish, Mrs. Clay Pedigo, Mrs. James Perkins, Mrs.

Phillips, Mrs. Ernest Shorter, Mrs. Tommy Taylor, and Mrs. James Worley. Gamma Beta Beta Sigma Phi Gamma Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met recently at the home of Mrs.

H. H. Ledyard Jr. Prior to the meeting the pledges met and were tested for the Ritual of Jewels degree. For the past several months, under the direction of Mrs.

John Brewer, the pledges have been learning the traditions and history of Beta Sigma Phi. Rituals will be conferred in special ceremonies to be held on Nov. 20. Those scheduled to receive the Ritual of Jewels degree are: Mrs. Frank Ginn, Mrs.

II. H. Ledyard Mrs. Larry McKay, Mrs. Don Milner, Mrs.

BiU Monuin. Mrs. Lance Rooker and Mrs. Doug Walters. Mrs.

Becky Anderson, president, conducted a brief business meeting during which Mrs. Doug Walters reported on the rraft projects being prepared for the Chapter booth at the Canton Flea Market. At the conclusion of the business meeting the pledges presented a gift to Mrs. Brewer in appreciation of her guidance during their pledge period. Mrs.

Arthur Mitchell presented a program on prose using newspapers, magazines, short stories and examples of old and new fiction to contrast style. In concluding the program the members entered into a discussion with each member telling something about a book that they had recently read. Following the business meeting and program, the hostess served refreshments to the following: Mrs. Becky Anderson, Mrs. John Brewer, Mrs.

Frank Ginn, Miss Leila Jo Home, Mrs. Lonnie King, Mrs. Bill McAdam. Mrs. Larry McKay, Mrs.
