He had served in all executive offices of the Scottish Rites Bodies. A veteran of World War II, he served with the Army in Europe.

His wife, Mrs. Juanita Winstead Cato, preceeded him in death in September, 1975. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Curtis (Judy) Salmon of Muskogee, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Chapman of Jackson.

Pallbearers were Seymour Delsheimer of Houma, Mark Jenkins of Newton, Earl Williams, Leon Langdon, E. Ray Meeks, Ernest Northern, Bryan Sullivan and H. O. Thompson. Josie Dancer Cato.

He was graduated from Winona High School and attended Millsaps College. Cato was associated with the Mississippi State Highway Department beginning his career in 1927. He retired in 1973 with the title of assistant specifications engineer in the construction division. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church where he served on the administrative board.

First Baptist deacon Services for Tom Bratcher Jr. were held from the Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Monday, July 19, with the Rev. Frank Pollard, Dr.

Larry Rohrmann and Dr. Joe Cothen officiating. Interment was in Morton Memorial Gardens. Bratcher, of 5540 Marble-head died Friday, July 16, at his Nottingham Apartment complex on Ridgewood Road. He was 50.

He was a member and a deacon of First Baptist Church, member of the Jackson Apartment Associa tion and a Mason. He attended the University of Mississippi. At Mississippi State University, he does research in forestry and management. He also is an excellent photographer, specializing in wildlife, with prints sold to the National Audubon Society, New York Botanical Gardens, and National Geographic.
