A native of Meridian, he was the son of the late Benjamin J. Hart and Carrie Williams Hart. He had been a resident of Jackson since 1933 where he was owner of and Oil Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, nee Dorothy, Dywer; two sons, J. Hart and David Hart, both of Jackson; three sisters, Mrs. Celeste Reynolds, Mrs. Bernice DeGraffenreid, both of Meridian, and Mrs. Mary DeMulder of Seattle, and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Sam McDonald, Pat McDonald, Bill McDonald, Joe McDonald, Earl Jones and Gene Phillips. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park. JAMES T. GIBSON engineer Services were held Saturday, Oct. 6, from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home for James T.

Gibson of 5517 Ridgewood Rd. The Rev. Rayford Woodrick officiated. Gibson, 62, died Oct. 5 at St.

Dominic Hospital after an illness. A native of New Hebron, he had lived in Jackson since 1937. He was a self-employed civil engineer with Energy Enterprises, a member of Briarwood United Methodist Church, a member of the Colonial Country Club, a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Yacht Club. Survivors include his wife, nee Catherine Clifton of Ethel; three daughters, Mrs. Janice Jones of McComb, Miss Linda Gibson of Memphis and Miss Dianne Gibson of Jackson; a brother, Marvin P.

Gibson of Jackson; four sisters, Mrs. W. D. Hilton of Jackson, Mrs. E.

F. Eubanks of Ruleville, Mrs. C. L. Little of Brownsville and Mrs.

Robert Earl Lee of Harrisville; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Fulton Mills, James Harris, Jimmy Cargisle, Al Fincher, Ed Rice, Pat Patterson and Mike Michael. Roy McHenry officiated. Griffith, 48, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. A native of Brownfield, he lived in WarnerRobins, before moving to Madison 11 years ago. He was associated with the federal government in the U.S.

Inspector General's Office prior to retirement. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, during which he served in the Air Force. He was a member of the Madison Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Wilma M.

Griffith; two daughters, Mrs. Lycresia McKay of Canton and Mrs. Debra Upton of Port Gibson; his mother, Mrs. Nettie Chadwick of Holdenville, a brother, Rick Chadwick of Dallas; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Arnold Sullivan, Bill Massey, Fred Upton, Jimmy McKay, Joe Kirby, Micky Kirby, Oscar Garland and Paul Burns.

Burial was in the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery. LESTER EVERETT RUSSELL JR. Jacksonian Services were held Monday, Oct. 8, from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home for Lester Everett Russell Jr. of 4015 Hanging Moss Rd.

The Rev. Joe Tuten officiated. Russell, 34, died Friday at St. Dominic Hospital following a brief illness. A native and life long resident of Jackson, he was associated with Yellow, Checker and Whitetop Safeway Cabs, as a dispatcher.

He was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Louise Russell Beasley of Jackson; a sister, Kelly C. Beasley of Jackson; his father, Lester E. Russell Sr.

of New Orleans; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Joe Russell Sciaca of New Orleans; and an aunt and undepallbearers were David Jackson, Paul Wiggins, Clayton Renfroe, Jim Dickerd, S. B. Thorn, John Gilbert, Gerald Pace and Richard Hildeshin. Burial was in Cedarlawn Cemetery.

JAMES T. HARRISON nurse Services were held Saturday, Oct. 6, from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home for James T. Harrison of 330 East Mayes St. The Rev.

W. J. Stanway and the Rev. Voight M. Sink officiated.

Harrison, 59, died Oct. 5 after an extended illness. A native of Eupora, he had lived in Jackson for a number of years where he was associated with the VA Hospital as a nurse prior to his retirement. Services were held Mon- day, Oct. 8, from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home for Walter L. "Shorty" Johnson of 1209 Lyncrest Ave. Dr. Frank Pollard officiated.

Johnson, 81, died Friday, Oct. 5, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Sebastopol, he had been a resident of Jackson since 1920. He was associated with First National bank for 44 years having retired in 1964 as vice president. He was a veteran of World War a member of First Baptist Church, a Mason and a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie Cox Johnson; from NOTES Northside YMCA Advanced and beginner Middle Eastern Dance Classes will begin Oct. 22. The advanced class will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday and Thursday and the beginner class will meet at 8 on the same nights.

The classes will be under the instruction of Gail Dickinson or "Nazira." Middle Eastern Dance Karate Lessons in Karate will begin Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. The class is for beginners and for those who have had one course. The class, which will meet for six weeks on Monday nights, will be taught by Don Byington, a second degree black belt. Tennis The Northside YMCA will offer evening tennis classes; one for adults and one for children.

Ladies Fitness A morning and noontime Fraternity pledges class in ladies fitness will begin Oct. 29. The morning class will meet from 9:30 10:30 for six weeks on Monday and Thursday mornings. The noon class will meet from 12:15 1 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for six weeks.

After-School The Northside YMCA is now offering an after-school program for children in the first-sixth grades. The program includes pick up at the school and an afternoon of supervised care and planned activities. The following are schools that are presently served: McWillie, Casey, Jackson Academy, McLeod, Spann, Boyd, Montessori, Bearss, Jackson Christian Academy, St. Richard's, St. Andrew's, Manhattan and Woodland Hills.

McNamee, 60, died unexpectedly Oct. 5 in Gulfport from an apparent heart attack. A native of Gulfport, he was graduated from the University of Mississippi in the Class of 1942. He received his master degree in journalism and advertising from the University of Iowa. For a number of years he was on Page 7A the faculty of tne Univeristy of Alabama and later was associated with radio station WMPS in Memphis and with RCA and NTA.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Frances Frierson McNamee; three daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Hood, Mrs. Janet Rushing and Miss Miriam McNamee, all of Jackson; two brothers, Milton McNamee of Jackson and W. McNamee of Merced.

HENRY M. JONES SR. Beach native Services were held Oct. 3 from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home for Henry M. Jones Sr.

of 3976 Roxbury Rd. The Rev. George K. Jones, the Rev. Clay Lee and the Rev.

Johnny Dinas officiated. Jones, 68, died Oct. 1 at his home. A native of Long Beach, he moved to Jackson in 1937. Prior to retirement, he was associated with the Mississippi Board of Health as an engineer and with the U.S.

Department of HUD. He was a veteran of World War II in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served on the administrative board. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Henry M.
