L. (Miriam) Ezelle of 1002 Arlington were held Saturday, March 13, at Lakewood Memorial Park followed by a memorial service at Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Clay F. Lee officiated.

Mrs. Ezelle, 98, nee Miriam Jackson, had been an active member of Galloway Memorial Methodist Church for 60 years. Active in civic, political, and welfare concerns of Jackson, she was a member of Church Women United, served as president of Woman's Christian Temperance Union, was on the board of the Bethlehem Center and was active i in YWCA. She also worked to promote alcohol and drug education in Mississippi schools. Mrs.

Ezelle was a native of Birmingham, and came to Jackson in 1922 with her husband, the late R. L. Ezelle, founder of Mississippi Bedding Company. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ralph O'Ferrall and Mrs.

George Pickett, both of Jackson; a son, Fred J. Ezelle of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Pallbearers were Owen Gregory, Bryant Ridgway, Wyatt Clowe, Russell Nobles, James McAlilly Sam Cole, Fred M. Jackson III, Frank Ezelle and Cory Ezelle. GEORGE GALLOWAY SR.

veteran Services for George K. Galloway Sr. of 322 Decelle St. were held Saturday, March 13, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home's chapel. The Rev.

Richard T. Brunk officiated. Galloway, 84, died Friday, March at St. Dominic Hospital. A native of Hattiesburg, Galloway was a longtime resident of Jackson.

He was retired from Illinois Central Railroad. He was a member of Riverside Independent Methodist Church and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include a son, George K. Galloway Jr. of Jackson; a daughter, Annie Laurin Whittington of Mendenhall; a grandson, Ken Revere of Jackson; and a granddaughter, Robin Davis of Meridian.

Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Hardy Jones, Ken Revere, Kent Davis, Jim Williams, Jim Westerfield and Don Cooper. T. LAMAR (DOC) GREEN veteran Services for T. Lamar (Doc) Green of 1828 Piedmont, were held Friday, March 12, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home's chapel.

The Rev. Warren Pittman officiated. Green, 72, died Thursday, March 11, at St. Dominic Hospital. He was a member of St.

Luke's United Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mildred Patterson Green and a sister, Mrs. T. R.

Sperier of New Orleans. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Floyd Ratliff, Charles H. Whatley, Charles M. Carnes, Warren C.

Dorsey J. C. Wilson, Grady Smith, and honorary pallbearer, Col. H. L.

Dalton. Memorials may be sent to Salvation Army or the Heart Fund. MRS. D. P.

(VIVIAN) MAY native Services for Mrs. D. P. (Vivian) May of 333 Northside Cir. were held Monday, March 15, from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home's chapel.

Dr. James E. Scirratt officiated. Mrs. May, 71, died Sunday, March 14, at St.

Dominic Hospital. A native of Coila, Mrs. May had lived in Jackson for 54 years, was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. Survivors include her husband, Mrs. D.

P. May; two daughter, Jane May and Betty' Cooper, all of Jackson; three grandchildren, Debbie Stebbins, Tommy Cooper and Lee Cooper, all of Jackson; a sister, Mrs. W. P. (Mary) Sudduth of Tinsley, and a brother, James M.

St. James to feature Dr. Winters Dr. Charles L. Winters will discuss the use of scripture in the Anglican tradition for St.

James Episcopal Church's "Our Anglican Roots" Lenten Series. Dr. Winters will speak at the 6 p.m. Evensong Wednesday, March 24, at the church, 3921 Oak Ridge Dr. Winters is professor of Religious Studies at Loyola University and serves with his wife in Associates as a consultant in adult education, ministry enablement and church organization.

He also will speak at a tea at 4 p.m. Wednesday on theological education for the lay people and then again at the 6:30 Eucharist on Thursday morning. Following the Evensong and address, there will be a pot-luck dinner and discussion in the parish hall. The public is invited to all events. Bortin to speak at Unitarians' service The Rev.

Ben Bortin, minister of the First Unitarian Church, Duluth, will be guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday, March 21, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Jackson, 4866 North State St. The Rev. Matthew 5:5 Clowns perform for REACH The Religious Education and Activities for the Community Handicapped (REACH) sponsored by St.

Richard's Catholic Church presented members of Mississippi Clown Alley at REACH's March 13 social at St. Richard's School at March 13. Mississippi Clown Alley is the state club of clowns promoting the art and resources of clown productions. The "Alley" consists of clowns, clown ministers, clown magicians ands mime artists. Featured at the REACH program were James Pratt, president of the Alley, as "Zeezers," a white face clown; Gary Davis as "Arty," the magic clown, and Clarence Hamilton as "Duffy," the tramp clown.

CLARK Funeral services for Gordon L. Clark of 927 Lotus Ave. were held Wednesday, March 10, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home's chapel.

Dr. Paul Yerger officiated. Clark, 59, died Monday, March 8, at his office from an apparent heart attack. A native of Chicago, Clark was a veteran of World War II when he earned two purple hearts, the Bronze Star and a Silver Star. He had lived in Jackson for 34 years and was a self-employe bondsman.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lelia Saik Clark; a son, Nick Clark of Brandon; his mother, Mrs. Edna H. Clark of Oshkosh, a brother, Joe Clark and a sister, Mrs. Geraldine Behn, both of Omro, Wise.

Burial was in the Cedarlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Holmes, George Holmes, Art Solomon, Judge Dan Lee and Penny Hammond. Honorary pallbearers were Al Binder and Russell Moore. WILLIAM BRADY COLE club manager Services for William Brady Cole of 3925 Oak Ridge Dr. were held Monday, March 15, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home's chapel.

The Rev. William K. Wymond officiated. Cole, 63, died Saturday, March 13, at Mississippi Baptist Hospital. A Jackson native, Cole attended Central High School and Millsaps College where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Air Corps. A graduate of the Dry Cleaning Institute of Silver Springs, he worked for many years with equipment supply for laundries and cleaners. Since 1968 he was manager of the Jackson Yacht He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Oddfellow Cemetery in Greenwood. FRANCES B.

COORPENDER native Services for Mrs. Frances B. Coorpender, 769 Woodlake were held Tuesday, March 16, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home's chapel. The Rev. Rayford Woodrick officiated.

Mrs. Coorpender, 89, died Sunday, March 14, at Rankin General Hospital. A native of Rapides Parish, Mrs. Coorpender was a member of a pioneer Louisiana family. She had lived in Jackson for 11 years.

A member of United University Methodist Church, Baton Rouge, she was active in United Church Women and Americana Homemaker Club. While in Jackson she attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Sam McCain, a granddaughter, Barbara Brinkley, a grandson, Richard Overton McCain, all of Jackson; two nieces, Mrs. A. B.

Estes of Port Arthur, and Mrs. Evelyn Cooksey of Baton Rouge, a nephew, Fred Brasher of Alexandria, and a number of great nieces and nephews. Burial was in the Resthaven Garden of Memory in Baton Rouge, with the Rev. Phil Woodland officiating at the graveside service. A native of Louin, we was a former resident of Columbia but had lived in Jackson since 1955. He was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church and was associated with Stewarts Commissary. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Fay Thaggard Daniels; a son, Paul Wayne Daniels of Jackson; a daughter, Mrs. Jimmy (Charlotte) Dale, of Jackson; a brother, H.

E. Daniels of Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. W. M. (LaBirge) Banks of Newton, and Mrs.

Jane Bogan of Jackson. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Jimmy Daniels, Mark Dale, Skip Daniels, Michael Dale, Steve Daniels and Craig Dale. Pentecost of Greenwood. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park.

Harvey. JAMES T. NAUGHER SR. officer Graveside services for James T. Naugher Sr.

of 335 Briarwood Dr. were held Saturday, March 13, at Lakewood Memorial Park. The Rev. Rayford Woodrick officiated. Naugher, 75, died Thursday, March 11, at St.

Dominic Hospital. A native of Pontotoc, Naugher had lived in Jackson since 1925. He served with Hinds County. Sheriff's Department for 16 years and with the Jackson Police Department for a number of years beginning at age 17 as the youngest police officer hired with JPD. He later served at Parchman as camp sergeant.

He was a member of Mississippi Peace Officers Association, and was active in real estate in the Jackson area and was a charter member of Briarwood United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lola Holoman Naugher; a daughter, Sue Jamieson of Baton Rouge; a son, James Theron Naugher Jr. of Jackson; a sister, Mrs. Janie Naugher Elmore of Jackson; a grandchild, Stacy Jamieson of Baton Rouge; a niece, Mrs.

Jean Elmore Byrd of Canton and a number of cousins. Pallbearers were Robert Lee, David Lee, Kenneth Moore, Richard Holomon Grady Tucker, Billy Martin, Ricky Huff and Bubba Thomas. MRS. REBECCA STEWART Services for Mrs. L.

W. (Rebecca) Stewart of 830 North Colonial Cir. were held Monday, March 15, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home's chapel. Dr. Gerald Harris officiated.

Mrs. Stewart died Friday, March 12, at St. Dominic Hospital. Mrs. Stewart had lived in Jackson for 33 years.

She was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Fred Ealand of Houston, Mrs. John Fletcher of Tampa, Mrs. Virgil Willett of Camden, Ala.

and Mrs. E. L. Smith Jr. of Charleston; 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Steven Johnny Smith, Lee Smith, John Fletcher, Doug Willett, Dennis Willett and Rick Ealand. MRS. NELL WEATHERSBY native Services for Mrs. J.

L. (Nell) Weathersby of 3895 Northview Dr. were held Saturday, March 13, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home's chapel. Dr. W.

Douglas Hudgins officiated. Mrs. Weathersby, 85, died Thursday, March 11, at Mississippi Medical Center. Mrs. Weathersby, nee Nell Cotton, was a native of Carthage and spent most of her life in Jackson.

She was graduated from Central High School, was the widow of J. L. Weathersby who died in 1969, and was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, William T. Weathersby; two grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs.

Martin Brister, Mrs. J. E. Flournoy and Miss Ruth Cotton, all of Jackson. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park.
