14! Jo and Nathan Wise have recently returned from a two-month trip which took them to Yugoslavia, Liechtenstein, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Rome, Italy, Albania, and Greece where they visited daughter and son-in-law Nat and Michael Gipson. They particularly enjoyed cruising to all the Greek Isles, and they highly recommend their cruise ship, the "Stella Oceanis." Due to jet lag, however, they won't "really" be back for another few months! Thanks, guys! Friends will be glad to know that Linda is in good health and is home now. While in the hospital, she "celebrated" her 40th birthday, and to cheer her up, a good friend delivered to her room a black wreath with dead gladioli and a card which read "Forty ain't fun!" The nurses were opposed to this, but Linda says she had a good laugh and started to feel better instantly! Cynthia Downer, daughter of Jimmie and Bill Downer and niece of Clara Karpe, traveled to Hawaii recently to participate in a bridge tournament along with John Helfrich and Nancy Bryant. Cynthia stayed in the home of Dr.

Jim McGuire, and enjoyed dinner parties and dining at The Outrigger. She, like countless others, thinks Hawaii is absolute heaven! No word on the outcome of the tournament.
