Unfortunately, Michele had a spill and hurt her ankle, but she is fine now.

The Junior High girls' basketball team lost to Mississippi Baptist Monday, Jan. 5, 48-35. The Lancer boys' team grabbed their first victory by defeating Magnolia Academy 46-41. The Lady Lancers also beat Magnolia, 41-29.

Friday night the Lancers took on Miss. Baptist. The girls were defeated, but the boys squeezed by the Saints 42-33. The last night of the tournament the girls won a 36-22 victory over Jackson Academy to win the overall third place trophy but the boys were defeated by JA to take home the second place trophy. Congratulations, Lancers.

The contests are open to skaters 12 to 20 years of age. Admission is $2 per person, or $3 per couple. The contests will be held simultaneously from 7 to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Funtime Skateland-North in Ridgeland, Funtime Skateland-South in Jackson and Funtime Skateland-Pearl in Pearl. Twenty-five couples from each rink will be chosen on the basis of appearance and skating ability.
