GRECIAN THEATRE Theatre in ancient Greece developed from rites worshiping the god Dionysus. Performances were given in an amphitheatre with a principal acting area about 60 feet in diameter; this area was called the orchestra.

The audience was seated around two-thirds of the circumference of the orchestra in an area called the theatron. Grecian amphitheatres were built with theatrons designed to hold, between 15,000 and 30,000 spectators. Opposite the center of the theatron was the skene, a structure with a least one entrance and a roof which served as an additional acting area. ij. "Originality is the art of concealing your source." The film has dramatic space footage from two shuttle missions, including the first untethered space walk by astronauts outside the shuttle and the only footage of the successful capture of the Solar Maximum satellite, which monitors changes on the sun. "The Space Shuttle: An American Adventure" was directed by Davis Planetarium Director Richard Knapp.

Knapp, who early in his career trained astronauts to navigate by stars in space, also wrote the film. The film covers the work of shuttle flights from pre-launch to landing. "In some ways, you could say that audiences are going to get a more striking panorama of space than crew members in the shuttle cabin," said Astronaut Dr. Ronald E. McNair, whose observation was based on the limited view of space that cabin-bound astronauts have through shuttlecraft windows. The astronauts took two cameras in space for the Cinema-360 project.
