6A THE NORTHSIDE SUN, JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI Obituaries Grenes C. Freiler Services were held August 29 from Broadmoor Baptist Church for Grenes C. Freiler of 706 E. Northside Dr. Dr.

Jim Futral, the Rev. Steve Stone and the Rev. Jim Hurt officiated. Freiler, 77, died August 27 at St. Dominic's Hospital.

A native of Amite, he had lived in Jackson for many years. He was a members of Broadmoor Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, usher, library staff and Joy council member. He was a member of Shriners and Masonic Lodge, Elks Club and the Eastern Star. He was a Navy veteran of World War II having served in the South Pacific. He and his wife served as volunteer workers in the ICU waiting room at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.

He retired as vice president of Federal Intermediate Credit Bank. Survivors include his wife, Wells Freiler of Jackson; Amos Kent Freiler of Madison; nieces, Joe Ray Van Vliet of Vienna, Betsy R. Cratch of Stirling, Linda R. Kergosien of Brookhaven and Margaret R. Nettles of Libertyville, and several great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Everett McCleland, Calvin Lucas, David Kergosien, Art Kergosien, Joe Nettles and York Craig. Burial was in the Canton Cemetery. Boyce H. Biggers Services were held August 30 from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Boyce H. Biggers of Nashville, Tenn.

Dr. Schuyler Batson officiated. Biggers, 86, died recently at the Meadows Nursing Home in Nashville. A native of Wren, he had moved to Jackson in 1946. He was a member and lifetime deacon at the First Baptist Church of Jackson and also a 33rd degree Mason.

He was a retired licensed professional engineer. He was associated with the Spain and Biggers Architectual Firm in Jackson that built many churches and schools. He was with the Spain and Biggers firm until the death of Mr. Spain in 1958 and then he was with other partners until 1970. After 1970 he was associated with his son in the Biggers and Biggers Associates in Jackson until he retired in 1983.

Survivors include his wife, Melba Spain Biggers of Nashville; two daughters, Charlotte Story of Kent, Eleanor Grace of Williams, S.C.; son, Manley Biggers of Nashville; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were David Stark, Cliff Story, Wayne Shows, Charlie Story, John Salter and Thomas Hontzas. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery. Charlie lupe Sr. Services were held August 30 from St.

Richard's Catholic Church for Charlie lupe Sr. of 4310 East Manor Court. The Rev. Richard Somers and Msgr. Noel Foley officiated.

lupe, 63, died August 28 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson, he was a graduate of St. Joseph Seminary. He was a member of St.

Richard's Catholic Church and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was associated with S. N. Thomas and Sons company for 37 years having retired recently.

After retiring he became co-owner of T. C. Clothing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Cedars of Lebanon and also a member of the Mississippi Wholesale Association. Survivors include his wife, Marlene Thomas lupe of Jackson; four sons, Charlie S.

lupe Michael Joseph lupe, both of Houston, Texas, Thomas Charles lupe and Sam Joseph lupe, both of Jackson; three daughters, Lucille lupe Shannon of Raleigh, N.C., Sharon lupe Garner of Atlanta, Ida Marie lupe of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; two brothers, Joe lupe of Canton, Lawrence lupe of Jackson; sister, Marie lupe of Jackson. He was preceded in death by a son, John Charles lupe. Pallbearers were Joe lupe Bill lupe, Danny lupe, Phillip Simon Nathan Simon, Elliott Thomas Frank R. Thomas II and Frank Simon. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery.

September 5, 1991 Services were held August 24 from St. Andrew's Episcopal Cathedral for Mrs. Lucy Cragin Allen of 4371 North Honeysuckle Ln. Dean Ed Bacon and the Rev. Sam Boney officiated.

Mrs. Allen, 69, died August 23 at River Oaks Hospital. A native of Hattiesburg, she lived most of her life in Jackson. She attended Mississippi University for Women. She was a civil service employee at Camp Shelby during World War II.

She moved to Jackson after the war and continued to work for the Civil Service personnel department until 1951. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Cathedral. Survivors include her husband, Max T. Allen Jr.

of Jackson; three daughters, Virginia Allen Ezelle, Elizabeth Allen Lyle and Laura Allen McEwen, all of Jackson; and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Cathedral or R. B. Thieme Jr.

Bible Ministries. Pallbearers were Fred Ezelle, Will Ezelle, Frank Ezelle, Tommy Lyle, Charles McEwen and Leigh Watkins. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery. Lucy Cragin Allen Buford T. Greer Graveside services were held August 23 from the Natchez Trace Cemetery for Buford Thomas Greer of 2041 Main St.

The Rev. James Richardson officiated. Greer, 76, died August 21 at his home. A native of Vaiden, he was a longtime resident of Madison. He was a former resident of Memphis.

He was a retired commercial painting contractor. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion, and attended First Baptist Church of Madison. Survivors include his wife, Mamie L.

Greer of Madison; daughters, Barbara G. Fletcher of Memphis and Susan G. Wann of Beeville, Texas; son, Thomas Allen Greer of Jackson; brother, Norvell Greer of Byhalia; sister, Mary Rucker of Kilmichael; seven grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Ernestine Pentecost Services were held August 27 from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs.

Ernestine H. Pentecost of 212 W. Jackson St. The Rev. Ed Griffin officiated.

Mrs. Pentecost, 82, died August 25 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. A native of Weir, she was a graduate of French Camp Academy. She had been a resident of Ridgeland since 1946 and was retired postmaster of the Ridgeland post office for 20 years. She was a former employee of the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the city of Jackson.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgeland. Survivors include a daughter, Martha Ann Pentecost of Ridgeland; son, Nathan B. Pentecost of Pascagoula; three sisters, Nannie Bell Hutchinson of McCool, Kitty Mae Hopkins of Noxapater and Mackie H. Lindsey of Ridgeland; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be to French Camp Academy.

Pallbearers were Percy Campbell, Cleveland Myrick, Ralph Edwards, John James Taylor, Bill Frizzell and Dr. Reed Mottley. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery. Robert F. Cochran Services were held August 24 from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Robert Finley Cochran of 200 Dominican Dr.

Dr. Jim Baird officiated. Cochran, 87, died August 23 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. A native of Meridian, he was a veteran of World War II having served as assistant adjutant of the advanced section of the headquarters of the India Burma Theater at Ledo, Assam.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. Survivors include his wife, Bertyle Rigby Cochran of Madison; daughter, Elizabeth Cochran Turner of Canton; son, Robert Finely Cochran Jr. of Jackson; three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bob Edgar, Bill Johnson, Jeep Clark, Charles Fitts, Lamar Maxwell, Jim Enochs and Doug Ferris. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemtery.

St. Richard's plans RCIA study series St. Richard Catholic Church at 1242 Lynwood Dr. begins a program series on the Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults (RCIA) September 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. The same program will be repeated September 11.

This is an informational series and no obligation is implied.
