6A THE NORTHSIDE SUN, JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI Thursday, June 18, 1992 Obituaries Services were held June 13 from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home for Mrs. Billy (Lois Brett of 1224 Maria Dr. The Revs. Danny Rutland and Bobby Edwards officiated. Mrs.

Brett died June 12 at her home. A native of Vicksburg, she had lived in Jackson for 23 years. She was a member of Magnolia Ladies Bass Club. She was the only woman from Mississippi to fish and qualify for Ladies Bass National Classic Tournament. Survivors include her husband William (Billy) R.

Brett of Jackson; daughters, Tammy Terry of Jackson, Mrs. Cheryl Brett, Mrs. Laura Garcia and Mrs. Rhonda Combe of Long View, sons, Robert Fields of Baton Rouge, James Brett of Long View, 11 grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Fraser of Memphis; Mrs.

Jo Carol Ross of Pearl; brothers, Steve Allen Uzzle of Jackson, Fred Uzzle Jr. of Eagle Lake, Harry Uzzle of Vicksburg, Jerry Uzzle of Long Lake. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Mississippi, 2600 Insurance Suite B120, Jackson, MS 39216-4911. Pallbearers were Brett, Wayne Brett, John Hammack, Steve McCuskey, Mike Simmons and Harold Uzzle. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ethel L. Register Mrs. Lois E. Brett Services were held May 29 from Fisher-Riles Funeral Home Chapel for Ethel Lohman Register of Los Angeles. The Rev.

LaDon Dawson officiated. Mrs. Register died May 26 in Los Angeles. A native of St. Louis, she was reared in Vicksburg and lived most of her life in Jackson.

She was a graduate of MSCW in Columbus and taught school in Vicksburg for four years. She moved to Washington, D.C., where she was personal secretary to the Treasurer of the United States. She returned to Jackson, and in 1990 went to live with her daughter in Santa Monica, Calif. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Vicksburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt.

Commander Paul J. Register Sr. who died December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor. Survivors include one son, Paul J. Register Jr.

of Vicksburg; one daughter, Nancy Steele Register of Santa Monica, three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Lelia Ann Weeks Services were held June 9 from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home for Mrs. Lelia Ann Weeks of 125 Pine Knoll, Ridgeland. The Rev.

Bobby Myers officiated. Mrs. Weeks, 77, died June 7 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. A native of Quitman, she was a resident of Jackson for 45 years.

She was a member of Lakeover Church of God. She was preceded in 1 death by her husband Lester John Weeks and her son John Weeks. Survivors include her daughter, Julia Weeks of Jackson; brother, Cornelius Campbell of Quitman; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Bob Buie, Bobby Davis, Tom Harris, Butelle Graham, Steve Asher and Billy Stokes. Burial was in the Natchez Trace Memorial Park.

Bea Pettey Tuyt Graveside services were held June 8 from Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery for Bea Pettey Tuyt of 140 Pine Haven Dr. The Rev. Brister Ware officiated. Mrs. Tuyt, 72, died June 7 at St.

Dominic-Jackson Hospital. A native of Conehatta, she lived most of her life in Jackson. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the National Secretaries Association. She was the widow of Jacobus Tuyt of the Netherlands. Survivors include her daughter, Toni Tuyt Carroll of Orlando; brothers, Thomas Pettey of Meridian and Clarence Pettey of Pascagoula.

Pallbearers were Jim Gentry, Joe Pettey, Alan Futboye and Charlie Carroll. Services were held June 16 from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Charles T. Nettles of 212 Autumn Ridge Dr. The Rev. Don Rhymes officiated.

Nettles, 88, died June 13 at Lakeland Nursing Center. A native of Vicksburg, he was a graduate of Vicksburg High School. He was a member of the House of Representatives from 1940 until 1942. He attended LaSalle University of Chicago. He was a veteran of World War II and was formerly employed by Illinois Central Railroad Company.

A long time employee of the State of Mississippi, he was State Property Officer for the Budget Commission and Department of Audit from 1947 until 1975. He was a 1 member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church of Vicksburg, a member of Capitol Optimist Club, the Elks Lodge 95 of Vicksburg and Jeff Davis Chapter of the Sons of the Confederacy. Survivors include his wife, Irva Bryant Nettles, daughter, Mary Frances Nettles, both of Jackson; sister, Estelle N. Stewart of Vicksburg. Pallbearers were Frank Andrews, Raphael Franco, Alex Cunningham, Mason Shelby, Marvin Earnheart and Dr.

Ludwell Pierce. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Capitol Optimist Club. Burial was in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery. John McCabe Austin Charles T. Nettles Memorial Park Cemetery for John McCabe Austin of 4740 Chastain Dr.

Austin, 69, died June 12 at the University Medical Center. A native of Harperville, he was a graduate of the Harperville High School. He graduated from the University of Mississippi and was a member of the Ole Miss Alumni Association. He was a retired insurance saleman for Mutual Savings Life Insurance Company. He was a Baptist and attended Broadmoor Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, William L. Austin of Natchez; daughters, Mary A. (Cissy) Nabors of Birmingham and May A. Briggs of Houston; brothers, Dr. Duff Austin of Cleveland and Orrin Austin of Harperville; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services were held June 13 from Lakewood Mrs. Lanelle P. Allen Services were held June 3 from the chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home for Mrs. Lanelle Pittman Allen of 206 Timberline Dr. Dr.

James Richardson officiated. Mrs. Allen, 71, died May 31 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. A native of Covington County, she was a former resident of Jackson for 35 years and had been a resident of Madison for seven years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Madison.

She worked in the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Day Care Center for five years and was a secretary at Murrah High School for three years. Survivors include her husband, Frank Allen of Madison; sons, Carl Allen of Southaven, Keith Allen of Ridgeland, Henry Allen of Madison; daughter, Angela Heider of Madison; one sister, Mary Jo Fulton of Jackson; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Madison. Pallbearers were Edward F. Heiden, James K.

Wallace, O. Billy Walton, Phillip Bellew, Michael King, Gregory King, Paul Fulton and Robert Ashley. Burial was in Lakewood Cemetery. Natalie McCormick A funeral Mass was held June 12 from St. Paul's Catholic Church for Natalie C.

McCormick of 103 Dogwood Cv. The Rev. Edward Balser officiated. Mrs. McCormick, 83, died June 9 at River Oaks Hospital.

A native of Boston, she was the former Natalie Caroline Dzengelski. She was a former resident of Quincy, Mass. and had been a resident of Brandon for the past four years. She was a former member of St. Mary's of the Hills Catholic Church and presently a member of St.

Paul's Catholic Church of Brandon. Survivors include her husband Hugh H. McCormick of Brandon; son, Paul McCormick of Brandon; daughter, Sheila McCormick of Boston, sisters, Lucy Andre of Columbia Cross Roads, Jennie Durdinski of Haverhill, Charlote Fitzgerals of Randolph, Roberta Markowski of Meadfield, brothers, James Dzengelski of Detroit, Richard Dzengelski of Calabash, N.C., Eddie Dzengelski of Braintree, and two grandchildren. ROSS IS A graduate of Ohio State University, with a degree in business administration. He received his master's degree in business administration from Miami University (Ohio). He holds the master's of divinity degree from Columbia Biblical Seminary and is currently enrolled in the doctor's of ministry program at Reformed Theological Seminary. Ross was the organizing pastor of Surfside Beach Church. During his pastorate there, the church grew from 50 members to its current membership of 230 and has recently completed a new building.
