November 10, 1988 THE NORTHSIDE SUN, JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI Page 5B Luncheon Clubs Opti-Mrs. The Opti-Mrs. Luncheon Club met at the Sun-N-Sand for its October meeting with the president, Mrs. Randolph Millard, presiding. Cohostesses were Mesdames Shaw Sistrunk, chairman, Jerry Yoste and Hal Brown.

Mrs. Yoste offered the invocation. Mrs. M. A.

Lewis was introduced as a new member. Guests were Sara Dunn Sistrunk and Frances Dewitt. The Susan Anthony dollar was won by Mrs. Yoste. High score in bridge was won by Mrs.

Sistrunk; and second high by Miss Sistrunk. Members present were Mesdames Dexter Barr, Clyde Brooks, Hugh Clift, Charles Dean, Ruble Griffin, Wilbur Howie, Raymond Martin, A. E. May, Calvin Michel, Randolph Millard, Virgil Myers, Shaw Sistrunk, Lewis Tilghman, Paul Westerfield, Lewis Wilson, J. H.

Woodard and Jerry Yoste. Les Amies The October meeting of Les Amies Luncheon Club was held 0c- tober 12 at the Country Club of Jackson. Hostesses were Angie Reynolds and Barbara Sulser. Mildred Russell presented a program on entertaining. Ann McMullan was a guest.

ZTA to meet The Jackson area alumnae of Zeta Tau Alpha will host an alum barbecue November 11 from p.m. at Fowler Lodge on the reservoir. Husbands and dates are welcome. The cost is $5 per person and reservations are needed.

The Continental Bridge and Luncheon Club held its November meeting at Colonial Country Club with Mrs. John Hannon, president, presiding. Serving as hostesses were Sue Lucas, Dot Allred, Polly Anthony, Edoire Asprooth, Pauline Bailey, Georgianne Birdsong and Sis Caden. The winners at bridge were Mrs.

Ray Clodfelter, high; and Mrs. L. B. West, second. Helen Nielsen won Bingo.

Hours for the Swain, Ramsey betrothal told STACY MELISSA SWAIN and James Randall Ramsey exchanged marriage vows in a candlelight ceremony September 24 at First Baptist Church. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Howard S. Samsel of Brandon and John Sanders Swain of Clinton.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Peggy Ramsey of Winona. The Rev. Dr. Frank Pollard officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The church altar was enhanced by white columns with candelabra and a variety of fresh greenery. The service concluded with the lighting of a unity candle. Music was provided by Becky Payne, organist; Evelyn Herm, soloist; and Ann Mason and Tammy Mason, violinists. GIVEN IN MARRIAGE by her father, the bride wore a gown of silk and re-embroidered Alencon lace embellished with hanging pearls and fashioned with a basque waistline. The bodice featured pouf sleeves and a portrait neckline.

A crystalline skirt created a train of cascading ruffles. Her tiered fingertip veil of imported illusion fell from a wreath of silk flowers and sprays of pearls and featured small pearl dotted poufs at the back of the headpiece. She carried a bouquet of white bridal roses with pink miniatures, stephanotis, orchid sprays and ferns featuring her white Bible given to her at birth, and also her maternal great-grandmother's lace handkerchief. Maid of honor was Kimberley Annette Scroggins of Brandon, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Angela Moore Bowling and -Tammy Lynn Bowling of Clinton; Melanie Dawn Hollis of Jackson; Shannon Leanne Scroggins and Tiffiney Malee Thompson, both of Brandon, cousins of the bride; Karen Anne Williams of Hope, Presiding at the guest registry was Mrs.

John J. Beddingfield III, cousin of the bride. Dance music was provided by Doug Kyle. Assisting at the reception were Mrs. Terry Lee, Cathy Lee, Allison Paige Scroggins, Alicia Dawn Scroggins and Kristin Thompson.

Serving as rice girls were Kristin Thompson and Paige Scroggins. A bridesmaid's luncheon was given at River Hills Tennis Club of Jackson by Kimberley and LeAnne Scroggins. On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom's maternal grandparents and mother honored the wedding party at a rehearsal dinner at Primos Northgate. MR. AND MRS.

Tommy Thompson entertained the wedding party and out-of-town guests for lunch on the wedding day at their home in Brandon. Following a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple will be at home in Midland, Texas. Rascoe, Travis are wed Marguerite Luke Rascoe of Jackson and John A. Travis III of Madison were wed in an evening ceremony November 4 in the home of the bridegroom. The Rev.

James Shull officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Mrs. Lewis E. Luke of Florence and is associated with the Internal Medicine Group of Jackson.

They carried bouquets of pink roses, pink and white snapdragons cascading with ribbons and ferns. John Bunyan Mortimer, maternal grandfather of the bridegroom, served as best man. Ushers were Dr. John J. Beddingfield III of Jackson; Joseph Scott Cantrall and Scott Shelton Jones, both of Dallas; and William T. Sanders of Brandon. FOLLOWING THE ceremony, a champagne reception was held at the Capital City Petroleum Club of Jackson.
