68 THE NORTHSIDE SUN, JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI Thursday, September 23, 1993 Miss Owen, Draughn engaged DR. AND MRS. David McIntosh Owen of Hattiesburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Elizabeth Owen, to Max Eugene Draughn of Ridgeland, son of Doris Williams Draughn of Hattiesburg and Malcome Franklin Draughn of Petal. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas Franklin Cleveland of Jackson and the late Mr.

Cleveland and the late Mr. and Mrs. Nat Owen of Gulfport. Miss Owen is a 1983 honors graduate of Hattiesburg High School. While at Hattiesburg, she was editor of the high school paper, president of Junior Civitan, participant in Presidential Classroom and member of Mu Alpha Theta.

She was awarded the DAR Good Citizens Award. She received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Baylor University in 1987. She was a member of Alpha Phi Omega, service fraternity, where she served as rush chairman in the fall of 1986 and chairman of Baylor's Spring Premiere in 1986. She was Kiwanis Club. Draughn is the grandson of Mrs.

Andrew Johnson Williams of Waynesboro and the late Mr. Williams and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Isaac Draughn of Indian Springs. HE IS A 1981 special honors graduate of Petal High School where he was a member of the Beta Club and Mu Alpha Theta.

He is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in political science. Draughn has also attended the Mississippi College School of Law and the Else School of Management at Millsaps College. Draughn is president of Cypress Pharmaceutical, Inc. in Ridgeland. He is a founder and shareholder of this generic pharmaceutical manufacturing company.

Wedding vows will be exchanged November 13 at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. Bridge luncheon to benefit MMA A Grand Slam Benefit and Style Show will be held October 28 at the Country Club of Jackson. Sponsored by the Mississippi Museum of Art Auxiliary as a fund raiser for the museum, the benefit will begin at 9:30 a.m., with bridge and refreshments. The buffet luncheon and runway modeling of holiday fashions will begin at 12:15.
